Sheryl credits EAH and affordable housing in helping her to achieve these goals.
Life started looking up when Sheryl and her children were able to move from their small apartment into one of EAH’s beautiful Bridgecourt units in Emeryville, California. For 4˝ years, their affordable home provided them with more space, and features including a swimming pool and state-of-the-art fitness center. They also enjoyed the community parties as a way to bring families together for support and connection.
When talking about living at Bridgecourt, Sheryl said, “It’s so convenient! Bridgecourt is close to good schools, the grocery store is across the street, and everything is close by.” Even though she owned a car, she said it wasn’t needed.
When Sheryl and her children (now aged 15 and 6) move into their new home in San Leandro, she will be expanding her daycare business with a license to care for 14 children. “Living at Bridgecourt provided a wonderful opportunity for me and my children,” she says. “It put me in a position to purchase my own home. And, the environment was clean and well kept.”
