 Karen Belanger has over 10 years’ experience in Human Resources, predominantly in the affordable housing industry. Previously, she was a Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent licensed by the California Department of Insurance and specializing in assisting clients with workers’ compensation claims management. Her accomplishments during that time include redesigning an employer’s workers compensation program to cut lost time by 64% and reduce average claim cost by 50% over a 12-month period.
A native of New England, she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Villanova University. In 2001, she was certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). PHR certification requires completion of an experience evaluation and a rigorous examination of comprehensive knowledge in the field of Human Resource Management.
